Help for the homeless: Project Homeless Connect, a one-day event to help the homeless or anyone at risk of becoming homeless, is 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesday at Cascade High School’s auditorium, 801 E. Casino Road in Everett.

A number of free services will be available, including haircuts, lunch, medical and dental services, vision and hearing tests, and foot care.

Everett Transit is providing free rides to the event.

Peanut butter sammies: A garage sale is planned to help fund a food program in Lake Stevens. It’s 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday and Saturday at Glenwood Elementary School, 2221 103rd Ave. SE in Lake Stevens.

The group is serving peanut-butter-and-jelly sandwiches to hungry children this summer. Glenwood’s “Li’l Hungry Hearts” program could use volunteers and donations. For more information, e-mail lilhungryhearts @verizon.net.

Help plan a neighborhood: The city of Snohomish is looking for more input on its plan for the Pilchuck District.

City planners will host a public meeting at 7 p.m. Tuesday to gather input on building heights, environmental impact concerns, a conceptual map and more.

The neighborhood is east of the city’s historic downtown in an area loosely bounded by the Pilchuck River, Rainier Street, Glen Avenue and Sixth Street.

The meeting is at the Snohomish Senior Center, 506 Fourth St.
