Mountlake Terrace: Library displays photos

An exhibit of works by Seattle photographer Dick McMahon will be presented at the Mountlake Terrace Library, 23300 58th Ave. W., through Jan. 31.

McMahon has served as an instructor for the Arboretum Foundation, the City of SeaTac, the University of Washington Women’s Center and the Victory Heights 4-H.

The library is open 10 a.m. to 9 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, and 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday.

Monroe: Group needs new library volunteers

A volunteer organization is looking for fresh blood to help advance programs at the Monroe Library.

The Friends of the Monroe Library raises money for library programs. Annual dues for members range from $5 to $25.

The group will meet at 7 p.m. Jan. 19 at the library, 1070 Village Way.

Island County: Land scheduled for auction

The Island County Treasurer’s Office plans to auction nine parcels of land to the highest bidder beginning at 9 a.m. Jan. 16 in Hearing Room 102B, 1 NE Sixth St., Coupeville.

The parcels are being sold due to unpaid property taxes.

The land has assessed values up to $898,248. The lowest minimum bid is $1,449 for one of the parcels and the highest minimum bid is $28,196 on another parcel.

Bidders must be prepared to pay in full with cash, a cashier’s check or money order.
