PREP ROUNDUP: Stanwood’s Jeans fans 15 batters

Published 11:27 pm Tuesday, March 16, 2010

BOTHELL — The Stanwood Spartans softball team might go as far as Brittany Jeans can take them. On Tuesday night, she got the job done both on the mound and at the plate, leading the Spartans to a 3-1 non-league victory over Lynnwood.

The matchup featured two teams which qualified for district tournaments last season, the Spartans at the 4A level and the Royals at the 3A level.

Jeans struck out 15 and walked two batters. At the plate, she batted 2-for-4 with a double and two RBI.

Lynnwood had chances to get to Jeans, but stranded 11 base runners and left the bases loaded in the seventh inning.

Jenna Barlow and Chloe Goudzwaard both batted 2-for-4 for Lynnwood.
