Mother’s Day is coming soon and we want to honor the wisdom of mothers everywhere.

Share your mother’s wisdom by sending us the best advice your mother ever gave you.

Tell us her advice, along with your thoughts about why it stuck with you.

We’ll publish a story on Mother’s Day, May 9, and we’ll share your submissions with readers in the paper and on Heraldnet.com.

Green Everett celebrates Earth Day: Celebrate Earth Day from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday at Zippy’s Java lounge, 1804 Hewitt Ave., in Everett.

Swap seeds with others and share growing tips. A documentary film, “The Dirt on Farmer John,” will be shown at 3 p.m.

Help makeover effort: On May 10 and 11, women from transitional housing agencies will be given a two-day extreme makeover by Queen Its A New Day. The women will stay overnight at the Holiday Inn in Everett. Volunteers are needed, as is money.
