Everett: Arson suspect held on bail

The Everett teen who police believe started the $2 million fire that destroyed Emory’s on Silver Lake was ordered held on $25,000 bail Wednesday.

The boy, 16, was locked up at the Denney Juvenile Justice Center for investigation of first-degree arson.

Judge Bruce Weiss said he would only allow cash bail posted by the boy’s parents, Snohomish County deputy prosecutor John Stansell said.

Stansell has until Friday to file charges. The boy was not affiliated with the restaurant. A motive for the arson has not been released.
