Cascade Bank has been named Best of Industry for financial services organizations by United Way of Snohomish County. During Cascade’s annual eight-week fundraising campaign, bank employees donated more than $75,000 to United Way, which was a 23 percent increase in overall giving from the previous year. The campaign was led by Judy Austin, Cecilia Johnson and Sarah Pettersen.

The Economic Development Council of Snohomish County plans its quarterly breakfast meeting for 7:30 to 9 a.m. April 28 at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW. Cost is $40 per person. AARP’s Tax Aide Program is scheduled for 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays at Everett Community College. Certified AARP volunteers will prepare and electronically file income tax returns for low- and middle-income taxpayers. Information: 425-388-9597.

Herban Feast of Seattle has become food caterer for The Fields at Willie Green’s, a 21-acre working organic farm in Monroe that includes space for weddings and other events.
The city of Everett is accepting applications from food vendors for the third annual Colors of Freedom 4th of July festival at Legion Memorial Park. Applications and details are available online at www.enjoyeverett.org. Applications are due April 15. Accepted vendors will be notified by the end of April. Snohomish County is accepting applications from public and nonprofit agencies for grants to fund projects that develop and promote tourism in the county. Funding is available for marketing only and not for capital improvements. Money is awarded from revenue collected annually from hotel and motel room rentals in Snohomish County. Applications are available at the Office of Economic Development, 3000 Rockefeller Ave., M/S No. 411, Everett. Snohomish County PUD honored two business customers, NetRiver and GVA Kidder Matthews, with 2010 Puget Sound BetterBricks Awards for energy efficiency projects at their facilities. NetRiver was honored for efficiency measures that have saved the business 1.5 million kilowatt-hours annually. GVA Kidder Matthews property manager Earl Wayman was honored for upgrading systems at a business park in Lynnwood.
