MONROE — Donations are being accepted for the Monroe family whose home was destroyed by a fire Tuesday.
Clothing and nonperishable items can be donated at the Monroe Fire Department at 163 Village Court. Monetary donations are being accepted at any BECU branch to the Lindsay Read and Tyler Poling Benevolent Account.
A mother and her grown son living in the house were hurt in the fire, which started from an indoor heating lamp used to warm chickens. They were recovering well on Wednesday, said Brandy Gutierrez of Puyallup, a friend of the family.
“The family is just trying to mend now,” she said.
