EVERETT — An Everett man who was found dead in a Snohomish County Jail cell early Tuesday died of natural causes, the Snohomish County medical examiner said.

A custody deputy who was making rounds about 2 a.m. noticed that the man wasn’t breathing, Snohomish County sheriff’s spokeswoman Rebecca Hover said.

Efforts to resuscitate the man were unsuccessful, Hover said.

He was identified as Landon Tylor Hays, 38. He died as a result of cardiovascular disease, the medical examiner determined.

Hays was booked into the jail on March 17 for investigation of unlawful imprisonment and making death threats to a roommate, Hover said.
