The Economic Development Council of Snohomish County has scheduled its quarterly breakfast meeting for 7:30 to 9 a.m. April 28 at the Lynnwood Convention Center, 3711 196th St. SW. Earth Day at Future of Flight: Fuel-efficient, high-tech vehicles will be featured on Earth Day, Thursday, at the Future of Flight Aviation Center. Visit between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to view Boeing’s biofuel hydroplane, the U-787, and the Tesla Roadster, and meet hydroplane driver Chip Hanauer. The U-787 and two Teslas will remain at the Future of Flight through Sunday. Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-15.

Shred documents: Mountain Pacific Bank will host a document destruction day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Everett branch, 3732 Broadway, and the Lynnwood branch, 19705 Highway 99. Bring up to 50 pounds of sensitive documents to be shredded at no charge.

SonoSite Inc. of Bothell, the maker of hand-carried ultrasound equipment, will report its earnings April 26 after the market closes in a conference call at 1:30 p.m. It will be broadcast live at the company’s Web site, www.sonosite.com/investorinformation/webcasts.

The sailing ship Lady Washington will visit the Port of Everett from May 26 until June 2, then head to the Port of Edmonds from June 4 to June 13. Accompanied by its companion ship the Hawaiian Chieftain, the Lady Washington will offer three-hour battle sails, adventure sails, walk-on tours and education programs for students.

The farmers market in downtown Mountlake Terrace will open at 3 p.m. May 6 on 58th Avenue and 232nd Street SW. The market will be open from 3 to 7 p.m. every Thursday with fruit, vegetables, flowers, honey and other farm products. Don Andrews, president of the Mountlake Terrace Business Association, said the market will begin with about 25 vendors. A $5,000 donation from Premera Blue Cross helped get the market started.

The NAACP will hold its second outreach fair in partnership with Everett Community College on the theme of economic development and self-sufficiency. The fair, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 24 at the college’s Whitehorse Hall, will showcase employers and community organizations and will provide self-sufficiency workshops.

Network in Snohomish: Businesses from Snohomish, Lake Stevens and Monroe are invited to a business networking breakfast event, 7 to 9 a.m. April 27 at the Snohomish Boys &Girls Club, 402 Second St. Registration fee is $20 for chamber members and $25 for non-members. Poetry Northwest Magazine has moved to Everett Community College for its production as part of EvCCs Written Arts program. Kevin Craft, chairman of the college’s English Department, will be the new editor of the magazine. It’s Spring-Summer issue will be published this month. That will be celebrated at 1 p.m. April 26 with panel presentation and at 2 p.m. that day with a poetry reading at the college.
