Democrats who’ll miss caucus can no longer send presidential preference

It’s too late for Democrats who can’t get to the March 26 precinct caucuses to designate their choices for president, but they can declare their candidacy to represent their precincts at legislative district caucuses and the King County Democratic Convention.
The deadline for submitting a surrogate presidential-preference affidavit was Friday, March 18, at 5 p.m.
Information about the caucuses is available at http://www.wa-democrats.org/page/2016-democratic-caucuses
Democrats can find the sites for their caucuses by going to the caucus web site and clicking the “Find your caucus site and pre-register” link. Another link takes them to a declaration-of-candidacy form.
They can’t vote for the people to represent them at district, county and state events without attending a caucus.
Washington Democrats choose their delegates to the national presidential nominating convention through the precinct caucuses followed by legislative district caucuses, county conventions and the congressional district and state convention.
Republicans use the May presidential primary; Democrats don’t.
Note: The headline on the Friday, March 18, South County Politics post should have mentioned surrogate affidavit forms for Democratic caucuses, rather than proxy forms for a Democratic primary.
