MONROE — An older man was found dead inside a home where a fire started Tuesday night.
Firefighters were called to a home in the 17300 block of 136th Place SE about 7:30 p.m., spokeswoman Debbie Willis said. The call came from an alert service for seniors.
Crews found the man dead in the kitchen near the stove, Willis said. Nobody else was inside the home. The fire was contained to the kitchen.
The man’s name wasn’t immediately released.
The Snohomish County medical examiner was expected to perform an autopsy.
