Wear PJs to the library

The Friends of the Monroe Library will host a pajama story time at 7 p.m. Tuesday for children ages 2 to 5.

Kids can bring their blankets and a stuffed animal as they enjoy a cozy evening of stories and crafts.

Caretakers should plan to stay in attendance.

The Monroe Library is at 1070 Village Way.

United Way accepting grant letters: The United Way of Snohomish County has opened its application process for new grant money.

All nonprofit agencies seeking money must submit a letter of intent online by Jan. 15.

Information on the process and grant applications are available at www.uwsc.org in the “projects and partners section.

Applicants must be 501(c)3 human service agencies with two years of audits or financial statements.

Applicants can choose to attend a bidder’s conference Tuesday at United Way’s board room, 3120 McDougall Ave., Everett.

Attendance is not required for applicants. RSVP by calling Vicki Vasquez at 425-374-5523.

The United Way awarded $2.8 million in grants to nonprofit groups serving Snohomish County in 2009.
