Everett vs. Portland: lineup notes
Published 6:53 pm Friday, January 29, 2010
EVERETT
Forward lines:
Maxwell-Froese-Tochkin
Harper-Langkow-Dailey
Elynuik-Cumiskey-MacDonald
Winquist-McGrath-McCrea
Defensive pairings:
Murray-Gudas
Rissanen-de la Lande
Theriau-Kulchar
Starting goalie:
Simpson
Scratches: Minville, Iwanski, Sohor.
Notes: Same old, same old for Everett as the Tips have remained static throughout the past few weeks. Left Wing Dan Iwanski is skating again, but is not yet ready to return from his knee injury. Kent Simpson receives his fourth straight start in goal. That’s the first time this season a goalie has started four straight for the Tips.
PORTLAND
Forward lines:
Walker-Francis-Rattie
Boychuk-Bennett-Gabriel
Ross-Johansen-Niederreiter
Peters-Schneider-Jordan
Defensive pairings:
Ponich-Doyle/Wotherspoon
Sbisa-Aronson
Morrow-Rutkowski
Starting goalie:
Carruth
Scratches: Swenson, Kopitar, Curtis, Doyle/Wotherspoon.
Notes: Portland’s big trade deadline pickup, defenseman Luca Sbisa, makes his Winterhawks debut tonight. However, defenseman Eric Doyle is questionable because of an ankle injury. He’ll be a game-time decision, and if he can’t go Tyler Wotherspoon will step in. Goaltender Ian Curtis is out with an upper-body injury, so Mac Carruth gets the start in net and Keith Hamilton, just called up from Merritt of the BCHL, serves as the backup.
