MONROE — Police said the fire that killed a Monroe man Tuesday night appears to be a tragic accident.
The man, 79, was found after a medical-alert service summoned help to the 17300 block of 136th Place SE about 7:30 p.m., Monroe police spokeswoman Debbie Willis said.
Crews found the man dead in the kitchen near the stove, Willis said.
“There’s nothing to indicate anything other than a tragic accident,” she said.
The Snohomish County Medical Examiner’s Office on Wednesday said they have not conclusively identified the man.
