Front Porch: Benefit run in Mill Creek Saturday

Nearly 2,000 runners are expected to race through Mill Creek this weekend for the annual 5K Run of the Mill cancer fundraiser.
The 24th annual race is set for Saturday at the Mill Creek Town Center. Sign-ins begin at 7:30 a.m., the race starts at 9:30.
Registration is capped at 2,000 people. The cost is $18 per adult, or kids 15 and under pay their age.
There are $2,000 in prizes for race winners.
All entry fees are donated to support cancer patients getting treatment with Everett’s Providence Regional Cancer Partnership.
Last year, with 1,700 racers, the race donated $25,000 to the partnership.

Poochapalooza!
Poochapalooza, Marysville’s annual dog festival, is planned for Saturday.
The event takes place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Totem Middle School’s Asbery Field, Fourth Street and Alder Avenue in downtown Marysville.
Admission and parking are free with donations welcomed to support Strawberry Fields for Rover Off-Leash Park and the Marysville Dog Owners Group.
Events at Poochapalooza include a flying disc-catching competition, obedience and agility demonstrations, and pooch-related vendors.
Poochapalooza is sponsored by the Marysville Dog Owners Group, the city of Marysville, Angel of the Winds Casino and other pet-related and local sponsors.
