Briefs: Marysville Rotary to hold golf tourney, shrimp boil

Marysville Sunrise Rotary’s sixth Annual Golf Tournament and Louisiana Shrimp Boil is Saturday at Cedarcrest Golf Course in Marysville. Proceeds will benefit the club’s charitable programs. Toastmasters to hold open house in Mukilteo

Local Toastmaster Vladimir Balabanov recently competed at the 2016 world Championship of Public Speaking and will be with the aspiring leaders at their open house at 10 a.m. on Sept. 17 at the Mukilteo YMCA Club Room, 10601 47th Place W, Mukilteo. There will be an introduction to Toastmasters International, speaking, supportive evaluations and light refreshments.

Biotech in Bothell announces its product is used in new gene therapy

Everett arborist helped organize tree climbing competition in Seattle

Dan Krause, owner and climbing arborist at Champion Tree Care and former World Tree Climbing Champion, helped to organize a tree climbing competition that took place on Aug. 27 at the Washington Park Arboretum in Seattle. The best tree climbers of Washington, Oregon and British Columbia competed for honors at the unique event.
