ARLINGTON — A Snohomish woman was taken by helicopter to a Seattle hospital Tuesday afternoon after being freed from a car that rolled on I-5 at Island Crossing.

The woman, 42, reportedly swerved and over corrected just before noon causing the sport utility vehicle she was driving to flip, according to a Washington State Patrol press release. Two teenage girls were taken by ambulance to a local hospital.

Traffic along northbound I-5 was backed up for miles as emergency crews blocked the lanes to allow the rescue helicopter to land.

The scene was cleaned up about an hour after the crash and traffic again was moving through the area.
