MARYSVILLE — A Marysville man was sentenced Friday to 4½ years in prison in U.S. District Court for conspiring to burglarize pharmacies and distribute oxycodone in the Pacific Northwest.
Brian P. Green, 29, said he had become addicted to the prescription pain killer after being in a motorcycle crash and started to break into pharmacies to satisfy his addiction, said Emily Langlie, a spokeswoman for the U.S. Attorney’s office.
Green was part of a prolific burglary ring that operated in four states between 2004 and 2006, she said. The group sold thousands of pills containing narcotics.
A judge also ordered Green to pay restitution to the pharmacies for physical damage caused during the burglaries and for the value of the drugs taken, Langlie said.
Green was the 26th and last Snohomish County person to be charged and convicted in the case.
