EVERETT — A motorcyclist was injured after he hit an Audi merging onto the 41st Street offramp on I-5 about 6:15 p.m. Friday.

The motorcyclist was merging too fast and ran into an Audi also trying to merge into the same lane, said Washington State Patrol trooper Mark Francis.

The driver of the motorcycle, a 47-year-old man from Mount Vernon, flew off his bike and hit the back of another car, a Nissan Pathfinder.

The motorcyclist broke his leg and hip and was driven by ambulance to the Colby campus of Providence Regional Medical Center Everett. He was cited for speeding and police arrested him at the hospital for investigation of DUI.

No one else was injured.
