Man killed by police in Everett identified

EVERETT – The suspected drunken driver fatally shot by police Wednesday night was identified this afternoon as Niles Leo Meservey, 51, of Stanwood.

The Snohomish County Medical Examiner said the man died from multiple gunshot wounds. His death was ruled a homicide.

A special multi-agency task force is continuing to investigate.

The Snohomish County Prosecutor’s office will determine if the killing was justified.
