MARYSVILLE — A 24-year-old Marysville woman was arrested in connection with a bank robbery Tuesday afternoon.
Police believe the woman used a handgun to hold up the North County Bank in the 1000 block of State Avenue about 4:30 p.m., Marysville police Cmdr. Ralph Krusey said.
She brandished the handgun and demanded money from a teller, he said.
Witnesses saw her driving off in a black Mitsubishi sedan. A Marysville police officer spotted the car on I-5 and followed the vehicle.
Snohomish Count sheriff’s deputies helped in making the arrest, Krusey said.
A woman matching the description of Tuesday’s robbery also was involved in an April 20 holdup at the Marysville Fred Meyer. Detectives are investigating whether there’s a connection.
The woman arrested Tuesday was expected to be booked into the Snohomish County jail for investigation of first-degree robbery.
