SUV rolls off U.S. 2, injuring two

INDEX — Two people were hurt early Monday when a SUV rolled off U.S. 2 near Index.

The crash occurred about 2 a.m., Washington State Patrol trooper Brandon Lee said.

The driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel, crashed through a railing and rolled about 50 feet down an embankment, he said.

Rescue crews took the driver and a passenger to Valley General Hospital.
