MARYSVILLE – The baby boy who died Thursday in Marysville had evidence of blunt trauma.

Marysville police reported that the Snohomish County Medical Examiner ruled that the 15-month-old toddler did not die from natural causes.

Police were told the toddler fell down a flight of stairs Wednesday night. The boy’s mother and her boyfriend did not take the child for medical attention, Marysville police said.

The mom checked the boy at 3 a.m. Thursday and he was breathing. At noon, the child wasn’t breathing. Help was summoned to the two-level rental unit in the 7400 block of 47th Avenue NE but the child had died.

Initial results of an autopsy conducted this morning showed the boy died from blunt trauma, Marysville police Cmdr. Ralph Krusey said.

The final report may take several weeks.

No arrests have been made.

The boy’s name has not been released.
