Arlington: Artists asked to show work

Harman Eye Clinic regularly showcases the work of local artists. Paintings, photographs, sculptures, crafts, quilts and needlepoint are among the artwork previously displayed.

To participate in the May and June show at the clinic, submit a photo of your work in JPG format to twentybetter@aol.com. With the submission, include name, title, year created, size, medium and contact information. The deadline is April 10.

Genealogy society fundraiser Saturday

Stillaguamish Valley Genealogical Society and Library members have scheduled a fundraising sale from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at 135 N. Olympic Ave. in downtown Arlington.

The Old Bags of Arlington plan to join in with a bake sale and an offering of the club’s custom-made shopping bags.

High school bands concert April 9

Arlington High School Bands, conducted by John Grabowski, will host a last band concert of the season at 7 p.m. April 9 at the Byrnes Performing Arts Center, 18821 Crown Ridge Blvd., Arlington.

Doors open at 6:30 p.m. There is no admission charge. The concert will include a recognition night for almost 30 seniors.

Marysville: Dog obedience class

A dog obedience class is being offered through the city of Marysville. The eight-week class taught by the Canine Behavior Center of Seattle will cover all of the basic commands.

Classes are 6 to 7 p.m. beginning Tuesday at Jones &Company Pets, 1340 State Ave.

The cost is $110; registration is required. All dogs must be fully immunized for their age.

Stanwood: Learn to handle daily stress

The Stanwood Camano Friends of the Library offers a workshop called Five-Minute Daily Energy Balancing. The program is set for 6 p.m. today at the Stanwood Library, 9701 271st St. NW. Wear comfortable clothes and bring drinking water.
