EVERETT — Time is running out to get a break on outstanding traffic tickets and fines.
Statewide courts are offering a program to help people with unpaid court fines and fees. The program runs through May 31, with some courts extending the reductions into June.
Courts are offering reductions, as agreed upon with their collection agencies. Many courts also are offering reductions on outstanding fines not yet sent to collections.
The District Courts in Snohomish County, along with the municipal courts in Edmonds, Everett, LynnÂwood and Marysville, are participating in the program. For a complete list of participating courts go to www.courts.wa.gov.
Those with outstanding tickets or fines should contact the court where their fine originated. Once the tickets are paid in full and reported to the court, the state Department of Licensing will be notified to the clear the driving record. The driver may be able to obtain a valid license two days later.
