Arlington: Career summit offered to students

The Snohomish County Career Summit for students is scheduled for 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Medallion Hotel, 16710 Smokey Point Blvd. in Arlington.

The event is free for all Snohomish County middle and high school students and their parents. The event gives students a chance to meet with leaders in the apprenticeship trades and in nontraditional employment opportunities. Food will be provided.

The event is sponsored by the Marysville School District.

Famous gardener Ciscoe Morris in town

Gardening guru Ciscoe Morris plans to spend Thursday evening in Arlington as part of a fundraiser for the Arlington Education Foundation. The foundation raises money for projects in the Arlington School District.

Morris is scheduled to be at Arlington Hardware store, 215 N. Olympic Ave., from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday. For $25, people can enjoy refreshments and be part of an exclusive session with Morris from 7:15 to 8:30 p.m. and. Tickets are available at the hardware store, Arlington Pharmacy and Flowers by George.
