MARYSVILLE — The Snohomish County fire marshal’s investigators determined the fire that killed a man in his mobile home Saturday was accidental.
The blaze at the mobile home park at 8515 State Ave. was caused either by discarded cigarettes or a space heater that ignited combustible materials, Deputy Fire Marshal Mikael Makela said.
The fire was contained to the living room and kitchen area, but smoke and heat spread throughout the home, Makela said.
The man who lived there, William “Bill” Hoyt, died from smoke inhalation, he said.
