Red Cross opens shelters in Monroe, Arlington

The Snohomish County Chapter of the American Red Cross palnned to open two emergency shelters this afternoon for people affected by the flooding.
One is located at the The Rock Church, 16891 146th St. SE, Monroe.
The other is at Arlington Free Methodist Church, 730 E. Highland Dr., Arlington.
Cots, blankets and food will be available, Red Cross spokesman Kris Krischano said in a press release. However, those desiring to remain overnight are advised to bring needed medications, a pillow, their own blanket or comforter (if desired), and a favorite toy or stuffed animal for young children.
Pets are not allowed in Red Cross shelters. The shelters will remain open for as long as needed.
