The word from:
Snohomish High School
“I’m enjoying being back together with all my friends. Class is class, but it’s good to see my friends again. I’m enjoying (junior varsity) tennis. I have a pretty good record so far. That’s been good.”
— Dominik Schrock, junior
Mukilteo Schools Foundation hosts annual breakfast
The Mukilteo Schools Foundation will host its annual fundraising breakfast at 7:30 a.m. Friday in the Kamiak High School commons, 10801 Harbour Pointe Blvd., Mukilteo.
The event will feature a presentation by children’s writer Patrick Jennings, author of books such as “Faith and the Electric Dogs,” “The Beastly Arms” and “Wish Riders.”
The foundation uses proceeds from the annual breakfast to put interesting books in classrooms in its effort to improve literacy among Mukilteo students.
That campaign began two years ago with a project that provided sets of about 80 fiction and nonfiction books for each fifth-grade classroom in the district. Last year, the foundation provided all four middle schools with sets of social studies books.
This year, the foundation plans to provide sets of age-appropriate fiction and nonfiction books for each fourth-grade classroom.
Tickets cost $35 each. For information, call 425-348-0714.
