EVERETT — A 23-year-old Everett man was arrested Thursday after officials at Archbishop Thomas J. Murphy High School saw him allegedly touching himself inappropriately on school grounds.

The private parochial school’s assistant principal told police he saw the man sitting on a table outside the school as students were leaving for the day, according to court documents.

The principal said the man appeared to be touching his genitals as girls walked by, the documents said.

It looked like the man was “tracking” the students, following them with his eyes as they passed, the principal told police.

When the man noticed school officials watching him, he moved to another spot and continued to touch himself as the girl’s volleyball team went by.

School officials confronted the man. He told them he was there to pick up his sister, but the name he gave wasn’t a student at the school, the documents said.

The man allegedly admitted to Snohomish County sheriff’s deputies that he had been touching himself.

He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of voyeurism. A judge Friday ordered him held in lieu of $10,000 bail.
