Arlington

Downtown street fair begins Friday

The annual Arlington Street Fair includes vendors, entertainment and activities for kids.

Sponsored by the Downtown Arlington Business Association, the fair is 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Friday, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday along Olympic Avenue in downtown Arlington.

Entertainment begins each afternoon and continues into the evening on Friday and Saturday. The Arlington Idol Contest is set for 6 p.m. Friday near the gazebo on Olympic Avenue. Gospel and folk music are planned for Sunday.

A shuttle bus out to the Arlington Fly-In at the airport is planned.

Camano Island

Island County bus service presentation

Learn about bus services provided on Camano Island at a presentation planned for this month by Island County Transit.

The presentation is 10:30 to 11:30 a.m. July 16 at the Camano Senior and Community Center at 606 Arrowhead Road.

The presentation covers bus services to and from the senior center.

Marysville

Summer concert series kicks off this week

Marysville’s Sounds of Summer Concert series begins this week.

Violinist Geoffrey Castle kicks off the season at noon Thursday at Comeford Park, 514 Delta Ave.

At 7 p.m. Friday, the 70th Army Band celebrates its 100th anniversary and simultaneously its farewell tour at Jennings Memorial Park, 6915 Armar Road.

The series runs each Thursday afternoon in Comeford Park and Friday evening at Jennings Memorial Park through Aug. 15.

Stanwood

City Council to discuss project priority list

A long-term plan for prioritizing transportation projects in Stanwood is planned to be voted on this week by the City Council.

The City Council meeting is 7 p.m. Thursday at the Stanwood-Camano School District Administration Building at 26920 Pioneer Highway.

The plan includes a variety of road projects, such as rebuilding sections of 276th Street NW, 68th Avenue NW and 80th Avenue NW.

The goal of the transportation plan isn’t to guarantee funding for all projects on the list, but to establish a priority list to give city staff guidance for planning improvements. The list also allows the city to pursue grant funding for different projects.

Tulalip

Boys &Girls Club sponsors sought

The Boys &Girls Club of Snohomish County is partnering with the Tulalip Tribes in an inaugural event Sept. 20 at the Tulalip Resort Casino.

The club is seeking sponsors for the event. Sponsorships begin at $100, and sponsors will be recognized at the event.
