Get child car seats checked for safety
Snohomish County Fire District No. 1, Safe Kids Snohomish County and the Snohomish County Child Passenger Safety Team have teamed up to offer free child car seat checks from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. today at the Mountlake Terrace Recreation Pavilion, 5303 228th St. SW, Mountlake Terrace.
A state law that took effect last year set new rules to promote child passenger safety and require children to be properly restrained in vehicles.
Nine out of 10 child car seats are believed to be installed incorrectly, putting babies and children at risk.
No appointment is necessary. Each car seat takes approximately 30 minutes to check.
To receive the best car seat check possible, parents should bring the child, the car seat instructions and their vehicle owner’s manual.
