Learn about farm design on free tour

The Snohomish Conservation District invites the public to the first of four summer farm tours May 31 at the Gross Farm in the Lakewood area.
Lyn Gross designed her farm to eliminate mud and to be sustainable and environmentally sensitive. Tour participants will be able to view her new arena, mud-free paddocks, compost sites and the results of the drainage work she did to reduce mud and irrigate her landscaping.
The tour is cosponsored by Snohomish County Public Works Surface Water Management Division and the Stillaguamish River Clean Water District to improve conditions in the Stillaguamish River and the shellfish areas near Stanwood.
