Bothell: City board seats open
Volunteers are needed to fill several spots on various public committees and commissions with the city of Bothell.
People have until 5 p.m. on Feb. 15 to submit applications. The openings range from seats on the Landmark Preservation Board to the city Planning Commission.
Applications are available at the city clerk’s office at Bothell City Hall at 18305 101st Ave. NE. For more information, call 425-486-3256.
Edmonds: Workshop on buying cars
Learn tips to buying a new or used vehicle at a class being planned by the city of Edmonds.
The class, called Becoming a Savvy Car Buyer, is scheduled from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Thursday at the Frances Anderson Center at 700 Main St.

Lynnwood: Bilingual event for kids
Children can read stories and sing songs in English and in Spanish at an event being planned for the Lynnwood Library.
The event is scheduled for 7 p.m. today at the library at 19200 44th Ave. W. Anyone is welcome, but the event is intended for children ages 3 to 6 years old.
The event is planned to be repeated at 7 p.m. Jan. 14.

Mill Creek: Library holds puppet show
A puppet show depicting the adventures of Br’er Rabbit is planned for this month at the Mill Creek Library.
The show is scheduled for 11 a.m. Jan. 19 at the library at 15429 Bothell-Everett Hwy. The event is sponsored by Friends of the Mill Creek Library.

Monroe: Center offers writing class
The East County Senior Center offers a free writing class at 2 p.m. on the first and third Thursdays of each month. The center is at 276 Sky River Parkway.
Writing experience isn’t required; beginners are welcome. The class helps people write their memoir, which can be used as a gift to others.
