MONROE – A Monroe man wants to identify who’s responsible for injuring him in a hit-and-run accident on Memorial Day. His family is offering $2,000 reward for information.
Ralph Townsend, 63, said he was heading north on Lewis Street on a maroon 2003 Honda Gold Wing motorcycle about 3:30 p.m. May 25. When Townsend tried to turn right onto U.S. 2, he was hit by a green Jeep Wrangler with a black top.
The driver of the Jeep, who is believed to be in his 30s or 40s, left the scene before police arrived, Townsend said Friday.
Townsend sustained broken bones on both hands, three broken ribs, a wrenched knee and many bruises.
A reward of $1,000 is offered for information leading to the arrest of the Jeep’s driver, and an additional $1,000 is offered if the driver is convicted.
Anyone with a tip is asked to call the Monroe Police Department at 360-794-6300 or at 360-863-4600.
