New board members join county Tourism Bureau

Bria Miller, Andrew Heelas and Sara Blayne were appointed to the board of directors of the Snohomish County Tourism Bureau for three-year terms, effective Nov. 19. Blayne is the general manager of the Lynnwood Convention Center. Heelas is the general manager and director of sales for the Holiday Inn Express &Suites in Lynnwood. Miller is the general manager of the Best Western Cascadia Inn in Everett.

GroWashington to raise money for Historic Startup Gym

GroWashington is hosting a fundraiser, Startups for Startup, to help support the restoration of the Historic Startup Gym. The event is from 7 to 9 p.m. Dec. 18 at GroWashington, 923 Main St., Sultan. Innovation Center raises $45,480 to help inventors

The NW Innovation Resource Center announced that its campaign to fund Slingshot to help more inventors move their ideas from the workshop to the marketplace has been a success. The crowdfunding campaign, #GiveIdeasLife, on Indiegogo raised $45,480, edging just past their goal. Inventors looking for support are encouraged to reach the center by visiting www.nwirc.com.
