Mill Creek police call attention to rapist in area

MILL CREEK – Police are asking apartment managers and business owners to post fliers about a man being sought for reportedly raping a woman near her apartment Friday.

“We need people to be aware of what happened. At this point, we really need a lead,” said Becky Erk, Mill Creek police spokeswoman.

The assault happened about 1 a.m. in the 13500 block of North Creek Drive.

The victim, 41, told police she was nearing her apartment building when a man approached her and asked for a cigarette. The man knocked the woman to the ground and dragged her to a nearby wooded area, where he sexually assaulted her, police said.

The woman was able to escape and call 911. She was treated at a local hospital for minor physical injuries, police said.

Investigators want to warn residents in nearby apartment complexes and businesses about the man. They’d also like to drum up leads that may help them identify the suspect, Erk said.

The man was described a as a white man in his late 20s. He is about 6 feet 2 inches tall and has a muscular build. He may have a scar on his face.

He was wearing a dark-colored baseball hat on backward, a red baseball-type shirt, blue jeans and blue tennis shoes.

Everett: Police seek robbery suspect

Police are searching for a man who reportedly robbed a popular pain medication from a pharmacy Tuesday morning.

The robbery happened about 8:30 a.m. at Walgreen’s, 13110 Bothell-Everett Highway, according to Everett police Sgt. Boyd Bryant. The suspect reportedly threatened he had a weapon, jumped the counter, grabbed some OxyContin and ran out of the store.

The man was described as white and in his 20s. He is about 5 feet 9 inches tall and 160 pounds. He was wearing a red, puffy jacket and black beanie cap.

Gold Bar: Man arrested after shooting incident

A man was arrested Monday after reportedly shooting another man in the hand over the weekend.

The victim, 23, told police he was partying with friends off Reiter Road early Friday when his vehicle was sprayed with gravel by a sport utility vehicle. He confronted the driver who became belligerent, according to an affidavit filed in Everett District Court on Tuesday.

The victim told police that as he was driving off he heard a loud noise and later realized that he had been shot in the left hand.

Snohomish County sheriff’s detectives developed information about the suspect, 21, who was a passenger in the sport utility vehicle. While they were searching a house for the gun, the suspect arrived, according to court records.

He was arrested and booked into the Snohomish County Jail for investigation of first-degree assault with a weapon. He was being held in lieu of $25,000 bail.
