Oregon mill worker struck by slow-moving train dies

GASTON, Ore. — A man working at a lumber mill has died after being struck by a train about 30 miles west of Portland.
Officials with the Washington County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release that deputies were called to the Stimson Lumber Mill near Gaston Tuesday afternoon. They found Antonio Avalos, 46, of McMinnville, dead at the scene.
Deputies believe Avalos fell off the front of a slow-moving train while working in the rail yard.
