Good news for Boeing — the chairman of Emirates Group says the airline won’t punish Boeing for the Dubai ports debacle. The Bahrain Tribune reports http://www.menafn.com/qn_news_story_s.asp?StoryId=1093110974 that Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum is committed to a professional and independent evaluation of competing bids for 787s and A350s.
Key Quote: “Both the companies are very much in contention at this time. On the other hand, there is no truth in reports that we are not really interested in the fuel-guzzling Airbus A340-500 jets.”
Hmm … perhaps something got lost in translation there.
