Girl Scouts welcome baby girl
Girl Scouts Troop 53243 presented a gift basket to the family of the first baby girl born at Everett’s Providence Medical Center on Oct. 31.
Girl Scouts founder Juliette Gordon Low was born Oct. 31. To celebrate her birthday, the local Scouts created a gift basket as a service project. The girls shopped for the items themselves, using money earned through the annual cookie sale. Items included a diaper bag, diapers, wipes, clothes, bottles, and more.
‘Volunteer extraordinaire’ honored
The Kiwanis Club of Snohomish honored Rosemary Randall as its Citizen of the Quarter.
Randall has been influential behind-the-scenes in getting multiple volunteer projects done.
“She is a volunteer extraordinaire,” said Marci Volmer, North End Area director of the Snohomish Boys &Girls Club.
Randall has volunteered for many years at Christmas House, the Snohomish Food Bank, and at the Snohomish Community Kitchen, where she drives a shuttle van to get local folks back and forth to enjoy a great meal.
“She continues to give back to the people of Snohomish County. She is positive, influential, and passionate about others,” said Ken Hammond, development director at Bethany of the Northwest Foundation.
