Events center’s first expo is Friday

EVERETT — More than 40 area businesses will display their products and services Friday at the first business expo in the new Everett Events Center.
The event, which is free and open to the public, is designed as a business-to-business event — a showcase of products and techniques businesses can use to grow and become more successful.
The expo will be open 10 a.m.-6 p.m. at the center, which is at Hewitt Avenue and Broadway in downtown Everett.
Exhibitors include Electronic Business Machines, the lead sponsor; Banner, Horizon and Key banks; Columbia Athletic Clubs; Guardian Records Management.; Intermec ; Staples and the University of Phoenix.
As part of the event, the Everett Area Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual business meeting noon-1:15 p.m. at the center. Cost is $20 for prepaid members or $25 at the door.
The keynote speaker will be Mike Cave, senior vice president of airplane programs for the Boeing Co. Cave oversees commercial aircraft models made in Everett, Renton and Long Beach, Calif., and is a member of the company’s executive council. His talk is titled "Boeing and Everett: The Years Ahead."
