Each quarter Community Transit recognizes standout participants in its Curb the Congestion and Smart Commuter Rewards programs, which aim to cut down on solo commutes.

The Curb the Congestion Champion of the Third Quarter 2016 was Jessica Bentem, of Everett, who walks and rides the bus for both her job and personal trips. She started leaving her car at home two years ago. Since then, she’s lost more than 40 pounds, feels less stressed at work, and saved more than $700.

The Smart Commuter of the Third Quarter 2016 is Chris Snow, of Seattle, who commutes by bike and bus to her job an emergency department technician at Swedish Hospital in Edmonds. In fact, she’s never owned a car.
