Funeral, fundraiser set for 2 girls killed in I-5 crash

LYNNWOOD — Services are planned Friday for two young cousins who were killed last week in a crash on I-5 near 164th Street SW.
Amiyah Johnson, 12, was a sixth-grader at Olympic View Middle School. Her cousin, Yesterday Wallace, was 2.
A public memorial is scheduled for 11 a.m. Friday at Bethany Christian Assembly in Everett. Amiyah’s burial is set for 3 p.m. at Cypress Lawn Memorial Park in Everett. Yesterday is being cremated, according to the family. Lastly, a gathering and celebration of life is planned at 5:45 p.m. at Lighthouse Park to release balloons and lanterns.
“They were two beautiful, happy, smiling kids who brought so much light and laughter to everyone who met them,” the family said in a statement.
An online fundraiser has been created at tinyurl.com/amiyahandyesterday. More than $18,900 had been donated as of Wednesday.
Two other children injured in the crash, boys ages 5 and 7, remain hospitalized.
The children all were riding northbound in a Nissan Quest minivan the afternoon of Feb. 3.
The minivan and a sedan reportedly slowed or stopped for traffic near the 164th Street exit. A pickup apparently collided with the minivan and pushed it into the sedan, the Washington State Patrol reported.
The van driver and a passenger also suffered injuries. The investigation continues.
