MARYSVILLE — A 61-year-old man was hospitalized Thursday after being struck by a police car.

It happened about 11 a.m. at the intersection of State Avenue and Grove Street. The man was crossing State at the time, Marysville Assistant Police Chief Jeff Goldman said.

An on-duty officer was making a left turn. It appears that a side mirror on the patrol car struck the man. He suffered injuries to his shoulder and knee.

An investigation is ongoing.
