EVERETT — A Bellevue driver whose car collided with a semi truck last week in Everett died Friday.
The man, 26, was driving north on I-5 Thursday morning in a gray Honda Civic. He moved from the right lane to the center lane, nicking the rear bumper of a passing pickup, Trooper Heather Axtman said Thursday.
He then drove along the left shoulder at what witnesses said was a high rate of speed. When he swerved back into the center lane, his car crashed into the back of a semi truck.
The car collided with such speed that the two vehicles became stuck together, Axtman said.
The truck driver, a 42-year-old man from Mount Vernon, began pulling over and dragged the Honda along. It took half a mile to come to a stop.
The Bellevue man wasn’t wearing a seatbelt.
