MARYSVILLE — A manhunt in Marysville on Wednesday afternoon led to several schools being put on lockdown. An arrest was made hours later.

A driver, whose name was not immediately released, allegedly crashed into another car while fleeing from police about 2:30 p.m. Officers were attempting to pull him over after observing suspicious activity, said Assistant Police Chief Jeff Goldman. Items allegedly were thrown from the suspect’s vehicle as he fled.

A passenger in the other car was hospitalized with injuries from the crash.

The suspect, 55, was wanted for investigation of possessing a stolen vehicle and vehicular assault in connection with Wednesday’s events, Goldman said. A gun reportedly was founded discarded in the manhunt area.

Lockdowns that affected a half-dozen Marysville campuses and bus routes were lifted by 4:30 p.m.
