OLYMPIA — The state Senate on Tuesday unanimously confirmed Roger Millar as secretary of the state Department of Transportation.
The 49-0 vote comes nearly 13 months after the Senate’s Republican majority fired Millar’s predecessor, Lynn Peterson, when they voted to not confirm her.
Millar, a 57-year-old civil engineer, joined the Department of Transportation as deputy secretary in October 2015. He became acting secretary following Peterson’s ouster and Inslee appointed him to the job Aug. 9.
