Man arrested after fire breaks out in Edmonds garage

EDMONDS — A garage fire in Edmonds early Tuesday led to a man’s arrest for investigation of arson.
The fire broke out about 3:30 a.m.at a vacant house in the 9200 block of 224th Street SW. The house reportedly is owned by the suspect’s family.
Neighbors called 911 after hearing an explosion. Surveillance video reportedly showed the man’s car leaving the area. The 65-year-old was arrested a short time later at his home in Woodway. He allegedly smelled of gasoline and had matches and a lighter in his pocket. He was booked into the Snohomish County Jail.
