SMOKEY POINT — A 78-year-old man suffered possible head injuries Wednesday after being struck by a car in Arlington.

The case is being investigated as a vehicular assault.

The suspect is a local woman, 29, who is known not to take her medications for mental-health issues, city spokeswoman Kristin Banfield said.

The incident started around 2 p.m. in the parking lot of Chase Bank along 172nd St NE. The woman allegedly called 911 and hung up multiple times. Others said the woman was causing a disturbance.

When an officer asked her to leave, she allegedly put her car into reverse and struck a man who was walking past. The man, of Arlington, was taken to Cascade Valley Hospital for an evaluation.
