Will skate for food

Snohomish County sponsors a March Against Hunger Night at the Silvertips at the 7:05 p.m. Saturday game. Purchase tickets through http://tinyurl.com/zwhg6h5, and $5 will go to Volunteers of America to fight hunger. Bring a nonperishable food donation to the game and get a coupon for the team store.

Film on sex trafficking: A documentary on child sex trafficking in the Puget Sound area will be shown as part of the Everett Public Library’s year-long “Everett Reads: Beyond the Streets” series. The film, “The Long Night,” shows the impact of trafficking on children, parents and police officers. The free screening will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday in the Main Library Auditorium. A discussion will follow with Norene Roberts, of the Washington State Children’s Administration, and Laura LeMoon, of Cocoon House.

College application help: Incoming college students can get help with admissions and federal financial aid applications this week at the Lynnwood Library. Admissions specialists from Edmonds Community College will be available at the library, 19200 44th Ave W., from 7 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, 4 to 5 p.m. Thursday and 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday, or by appointment by calling 425-640-1963. If potential students complete their admission and financial aid applications there, the $35 application fee is waived.
